Meet Arnie Harchik

“These are my peeps,” says Arnie. “We all talk the same language. I love hanging out with my friends at the BAVUG. It’s the best way to stay in touch with what’s happening in town. And these are just my favorite people.”

Arnie Harchik has been editing in Boston for a long time. He started back in the days when his work was described as “linear” and “non-linear.” Today he’s as busy as ever, telling stories and post-producing projects with WGBH National Productions. Series include: “Simply Ming.” “Moveable Feast,” “Sacred Journeys,” and “Neighborhood Kitchens.” Arnie is currently working with students from Emerson College to produce WGBH’s “Sing That Thing.”

Arnie’s resume includes PBS’ Frontline, NOVA, Antiques Roadshow and ZOOM. His all-time favorite gig was “FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman.” All work, all these years has happily been done on AVID Media Composer. After a decade of many Emmy nominations, Arnie now has three awards for various projects cut at Connecticut Public Television. Arnie is also a former president of the Boston Avid Users Group.
